CNC CONVERSIONS AND KITS FOR MILLS AND LATHES
SIEG SX3 CNCMILL, model SX3CNC
MicroTechMachine is proud to be associated with SyiL who have moved into the small CNC machine conversion market. With wide experience in the CNC conversion of industrial machine tools, their expertise in CNC electronics and control mechanics is solidly established. SyiL has recently formed an association with Sieg Industries and uses the Sieg product line as the basis for which fully converted machines and kits are available....
Converted machines are assembled and finished by SyiL’s professional engineers with on-going support from the Sieg engineering team. Their website is at www.syil.com.cn.
Kitsets are available for DIY engineers and professionals and only require your computer and CNC software to complete a project.
The SX3 mill lead screws are upgraded with double nut ball screws on all three axis. NEMA 23 motors are used on the X and Y axis with a more powerful NEMA 34 motor for the Z axis. All stepper motors are direct coupled to the feed ballscrews to eliminate any possible backlash often experienced with belt drive systems.
The Z axis drive is installed inside the rear column housing, while both X and Y drives are installed and protected with shell cases to keep out swarf and coolants. Drive motor mounts are of steel, precision made with wire cut machines and have better rigidity than aluminium mounts.
Photocouplers are used and installed on all axis for limit/origin check switch. These have better resolution than the microswitch or tumbler switch often used in lower cost systems.
Dual power supplies are switch mode, 300 watt One unit drives both X and Y steppers. The Z axis NEMA 34 motor has its own 300 watt power supply. A fan keeps everything running cool, even during the hottest days of summer.
The stepper drivers, PC interface and power supplies are integrated inside the rear column housing making the machine very compact. All external wiring is protected with plastic flexi-hose gainst swarf and liquids.
Connect up your PC, switch on the SX3CNC and you are ready to work.
