CNC CONVERSIONS AND KITS FOR MILLS AND LATHES
SIEG X2 CNCMILL, model X2CNC
The X2 mill lead screws are upgraded with double nut ball screws on all three axis. Hi Speed NEMA 23 motors are used on all axis. The Z axis ball screw is direct driven and mounted above the column. All stepper motors are direct coupled to the feed ballscrews to eliminate any possible backlash often experienced with belt drive systems.
The Z axis drive is installed inside a specially designed shell mounted on the rear column. Both X and Y drives are installed and protected with shell cases to keep out swarf and coolants. Drive motor mounts are of steel, precision made with wire cut machines and have better rigidity than aluminium mounts.
Photocouplers are used and installed on all axis for limit/origin check switch. These have better resolution than the microswitch or tumbler switch often used in lower cost systems.
Power supply is switch mode, 500 watt, and provides sufficient power for all steppers. A fan keeps everything running cool, even during the hottest days of summer.
A stand-alone Control Box runs the X2 mill and includes the PC interface, and stepper drivers. The box allows the operation of important safety and running functions and also allows the user to unplug and remove the controller to control another machine if required.
Connect up your computer, turn the X2CNC on and you are ready to start work.
We recommend MACH software. Check out SyiL's website. www.syil.com.cn.
